French Clément-Panhard Type VCP (1899)

Between 1897 and 1902 the 4 HP and 12 HP models were produced, which were equipped with built-in engines from the Daimler Motor Company and were therefore also called Stirling-Daimler . Also, there were 1900 model 5 HP , a licensed production of the French Clément-Panhard with a further development of the Daimler - single-cylinder engine of Panhard (P & L) and from import technical reasons with their own bodies. This vehicle was also known as the Stirling-Panhard and Clément-Stirling . It was one of the first automobiles consistently geared towards lightweight construction with many technical innovations such as a chassis made of welded steel tubes and the first self-adjusting steering. The Clément-Panhard was a design by P&L chief engineer Arthur Constantin Krebs and one of the first automobiles to be produced in parallel in two countries.

A vehicle of this brand occasionally competes in the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run .
