SM Car Syndicate Ltd. was a British manufacturer of automobiles and commercial vehicles .

Company history

George J. Shave and Irving J. Morse founded the company in 1904 in the London borough of Willesden . They started with the production of automobiles and commercial vehicles. The brand name was SM until 1912 and Foy-Steele from 1913 . Production ended in 1916.

These were steam wagons . A four-cylinder - steam engine was front mounted under a hood and drove over two chains, the rear axle. The steam boiler was in the back. The 8½ HP and 20 HP car models were on offer . Passenger cars were built until 1905. Commercial vehicles remained in the range until the production of steam cars was discontinued in 1912.
