Administration building in Alexandria
Before moving to Alexandria, factories were built at the new location. The architecture firm Halley & Neil was entrusted with the planning of the main building along Main Street . An elongated structure with baroque details was built between 1905 and 1906. The symmetrical building is made of red sandstone . The central entrance area is crowned by an architrave supported by marble columns. A tower with a clock and domed roof rises above it. The central part of the building is joined by elongated, two-story wings on both sides. The twin windows to be found there are arranged on nine vertical axes each. In 1971 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A.
