Hodgson Motors was a British manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
Harry Hodgson was making an automobile as early as 1922. In 1924 he founded the company in Leeds and began producing automobiles. The brand name was Hodgson . In 1925, production ended after eight vehicles were manufactured. In 1927, Hodgson received a patent for a wheel suspension. In 1929 the company built another five vehicles, which were now marketed as the British Eagle .

Hodgson made sporty vehicles. Four-cylinder engines with SV valve control from Anzani with a displacement of 1496 cm³ propelled the vehicles. The four-speed gearbox came from Meadows . The wheelbase was 2741 mm. The 12/25 HP model was a two-seater that cost £ 295 . The 12/40 HP was available as a two- and four-seater priced at £ 395. The race car 12/50 HP with compressor cost 550 pounds.
The British Eagle also had an Anzani engine. The wheelbase, however, was shorter. It was either 2386 mm or 2538 mm.
