The Emscote Motor Co. Ltd. was a British automobile manufacturer based in Warwick from 1920 to 1921 .

Companies

The company was founded by Charles A. Seelhoff (1893-?) Of Belgian origin and a Mr. Marlowe .

Two light vehicles were offered. The Emscote 8/10 hp with a V2 engine from JAP had an output of 10 bhp (7.4 kW). This may be a cycle car . A slightly more powerful vehicle was offered with 11.9 bhp (8.9 kW). It is unclear whether this information relates to a second model or an engine option.

Around 250 vehicles were built between 1920 and early 1921.

At an extraordinary general meeting on October 22nd, the voluntary liquidation of the company was decided because it could no longer meet its obligations. John Firminger from Coventry was hired to handle the transaction.

One of these no longer to be fulfilled obligations was the acceptance of a larger order for gearboxes. For their manufacturer, Marseal Motors Limited , this was the reason to manufacture their own automobiles, because this was the only way they could recycle these transmissions. Seelhoff was also involved in this company.
