R. Barton Adamson & Co

The R. Barton Adamson & Co Ltd was a British car manufacturer , who from 1912 to 1925 in Enfield (Middlesex) produced small cars.

The first car from 1912 had a "bull nose" and a V2 engine with 1078 cm³ displacement and an output of 9 bhp (6.6 kW) or a four-cylinder engine with 1074 cm³ displacement from Alpha in Coventry . The rear wheels were driven by a three-speed gearbox and belt. During the First World War , a four-cylinder engine with 1496 cm³ was installed instead, and from 1920 one with 1327 cm³. In 1920 the car was £ 375, down from £ 210 in 1924.

The last cars from 1923 onwards were "twin cars", which basically consisted of two side cars mounted on each other , with the driver's seat on the right. They were powered by an Anzani 1078cc V2 chain engine.
