The Abington Works Ltd. , previously Coxeter & Sons and Abingdon Ecco Ltd. , was a British motorcycle and automobile manufacturer.

Company history

The company was founded in Abingdon, Berkshire in 1903 as Coxeter & Sons . The production of motorcycles began. The brand name was Abingdon . The name was later changed to Abingdon Ecco Ltd. and Abingdon Works Ltd. and the move to Tyseley near Birmingham . Automobiles were also part of the range between 1922 and 1923 . Twelve of these were made. Production ended in 1925. Abingdon King Dick continued the production of the motorcycles as AKD until 1933.

Automobiles

The Abington was made up, i. i.e. assembled exclusively from parts from other manufacturers. It was an open touring car , with a four-cylinder - inline engine of Dorman equipped. The displacement of the side-controlled engine was 1496 cm³.
