Black Prince Motors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Black Prince Motors Ltd. was a British manufacturer of cycle cars , which was based in Barnard Castle (County Durham) . In 1920 they produced a small number of four-wheeled cycle cars.

The car was designed by HG White and powered by an air-cooled Union engine with one or two cylinders. Both engines developed 2.75 bhp (2 kW). The rear wheels were driven by a two-stage belt transmission. A spur gear was also available on request.

Both the chassis and the open body were made of wood. The flexibility of this wood replaced a suspension.

The total number of copies produced is not known, but two have survived to this day.
