City & Suburban from 1903

City & Suburban was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company City & Suburban Electric Carriage Co Limited of London began in 1901 with the production of automobiles. There was a connection to the American Columbia Automobile Company .

In 1905 production was stopped.

vehicles

All vehicles were equipped with electric motors. In the first models with a GEC engine , the batteries were located in the rear. In 1903 the larger Niagara model was added. In the later models from 1904 onwards, the batteries were located both in the front and in the rear of the vehicle for better weight distribution.

A vehicle of this make can be seen at the Caister Castle Motor Museum in Caister-on-Sea .
