HF Copland & Company was a British manufacturer of bicycles and automobiles .
Company history
The company was originally based on Brockley Road in the London borough of Forest Hill and later at Stanstead Road 108-110 in the same place. The production of bicycles began around 1875. In 1900 automobiles added to the range. The brand name was Grand National . Automobile production ended in the same year.
Automobiles
On offer were quadricycles , i.e. four-wheeled vehicles with front seats for passengers derived from a motorcycle . The motor with 2.75 hp was mounted in the vehicle frame. The engine came from De Dion-Bouton or MMC , depending on the source
