Eastmead & Biggs was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Mr. Eastmead manufactured elevators in Blackfriars . TJ Biggs designed automobiles. In 1901 they founded the joint company in Frome for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Eastmead-Biggs . Production ended in 1904 when Biggs moved to the Raleigh Cycle Company . A total of three vehicles were built.

The first vehicle received a built-in engine from Simms Manufacturing . The engine developed 3.5 hp . The vehicle was destroyed in a fire.

The second vehicle again had a Simms engine, but with an output of 8 hp. The gearbox came from a manufacturer in France .

The third vehicle had a two-cylinder engine of Aster 8 HP. The transmission, rear axle and body also came from France. This vehicle was in use for years.
