William Atkinson & Sons was a British manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The Lancaster company began manufacturing automobiles in 1902. The brand name was John O'Gaunt , named after John of Gaunt , Duke of Lancaster . Production ended in 1904. Another source gives the construction period from 1901 to 1904. A total of twelve vehicles were built.

Small cars were on offer. A single cylinder engine propelled the vehicles. One source names 4 hp and 6 hp engines of unknown origin, another a 4 hp Aster engine . Two and four-seater bodies were available, the latter as a tonneau .
