Brown, Paine & Dowland

The Brown, Paine & Dowland Ltd. was a British manufacturer of cycle cars based in Shoreham-by-Sea (Sussex) . In 1913 the company built a cycle car there called BPD .

The car was powered by a JAP air-cooled V2 engine that delivered 8 bhp (5.9 kW). The engine power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a two-speed gearbox and belt. It is not known if more than one prototype was made.
