Alvis TA14

Scotney was a British manufacturer of automobile bodies .

Company history

Scotney was based in St Ives in the central English county of Huntingdonshire . Detailed information on the establishment or the legal form of the company has not been handed down. It is certain that the company was active in the 1930s and even after the end of the Second World War .

Scotney specialized in the production of station wagons , the bodies of which were in any case partly made of wood (so-called "woodies" ) and which were particularly popular with customers in rural areas. Scotney made two or three Woodie superstructures based on the Alvis TA 14 as well as "a considerable number" of comparable superstructures for Lea-Francis .

In September 2014, a 1946 Scotney-built TA14 was sold as a barn find and restoration item at auction for £ 1,610.
