Ivy was a British motorcycle manufacturer based in Birmingham from 1907 to 1934 .

The company was run by various brothers in the Newman family. Ivy built around 6000 motorcycles of different model lines. Most models had two-stroke engines , either from JAP or Precision , but Ivy also built 225 and 296 cc engines. The company also made its own forks , carburetors, and sidecars .

Ivy participated extensively in motorcycle competitions; various Newman brothers also started themselves. Wherever possible, the company demonstrated the racing motorcycles to demonstrate the quality and design of the production machines. The Newman brothers thought this was the best way to prove the quality of their designs and to promote their products. HC Newman was particularly successful, winning a number of smaller races and taking good places in the Tourist Trophy several times .
