The Discovery Point is a headland in the form of a glacial moraine on the north coast of South Georgia . In Cumberland Bay it marks the western limit of the entrance to Moraine Fjord .
Participants in the Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1901–1903) led by Otto Nordenskjöld mapped them for the first time. The name was probably given between 1926 and 1931 by scientists from the British Discovery Investigations . It is named after the Discovery II , which was used to survey South Georgia.
