Division I (chess) 1957
The Division I in 1957 was the eighth Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ), while the fifth host in a league mode with ascent and descent.
date and location
The competitions were held in Stockholm on November 2nd and 3rd .
Tournament course
The decision about the championship was made in the last round, in which the second-placed Schackkamraterna Solna met the leading SK Rockaden Stockholm . With a draw, Rockaden Stockholm became the newly promoted Swedish champions, while Solna was runner-up for the third time in a row. Again the defending champion had to relegate with the Wasa SK , as did the second promoted SK Kamraterna Göteborg .
