Division I (chess) 1962
The Division I in 1962 was the 13th Swedish team championship in chess ( Allsvenskan ) while the tenth discharge in a league mode with ascent and descent.

The competitions were held on November 3rd and 4th in Örebro .
Tournament course
Due to the descent of Schacksällskapet Manhem and Malmö Allmänna SK and the simultaneous rise of the teams from Mälardalen and Östergötland , only district selections were represented in Division I this year. The teams from Stockholm and Mälardalen fought head-to-head for first place, which the defending champion from Stockholm won by one board point. The teams from Dalarna and Östergötland had to relegate without a chance .
