Division I (chess) 1969/70
The 1969/70 season was in Sweden, the first season of the two-pronged Allsvenskan in chess .
Events
Basically, the competitions were played decentrally at the participating clubs, game dates were October 26th, November 16th, December 7th 1969, January 25th, February 15th, March 15th and April 5th 1970. To be in the north relay To minimize travel costs, SK Rockaden Umeå and Fagersvik SK competed two times per weekend, apart from in a direct comparison. On 25 and 26 October 1969, she played in Örebro against the hosts and Eskilstuna SK , on 6 and 7 December in Fagervik against the Wasa SK and the SS Allians Skänninge and on 14 and 15 February 1970 in Stockholm against the local clubsSchack-27 Kamraterna and Södra SS .
Division I Norra
Wasa SK , SK Rockaden Umeå , Schack-27 Kamraterna Stockholm , Fagersvik SK and Örebro Schacksällskap, the first two of the Allsvenska groups in the 1968/69 season, qualified for the North Relay (Örebro earned the right to start in a southern group), Södra SS , SS Allians Skänninge and Eskilstuna SK also took part. Schack-27 won all competitions and qualified for the final, Fagersvik and Eskilstuna had to relegate.

Division I Södra
In the southern season, the three teams that played in Allsvenskan last year, last year's finalist Lunds ASK , Schacksällskapet Manhem and Helsingborgs Schacksällskap , fought head-to-head for the final, which Lund ended up with half a board point ahead of Manhem. The Limhamns SK landed a considerable distance to top and bottom of the table in fourth place, while the remaining qualifiers battled against relegation. Växjö SK and Landskrona SK achieved relegation, while Eksjö SK and Lundby Schacksällskap were relegated.

In the finals, the winners of both seasons met in Stockholm with Schack-27 Kamraterna Stockholm and Lunds ASK. After Lund won the first leg 4½: 3½, the hosts remained victorious in the second leg with the same result. As a result, a decisive battle was set. This took place in Lund and was won by the hosts 6-2.
