View from Alnön to Timrå

Timrå is an industrial town in the Swedish province of Västernorrlands län and the historic province of Medelpad .

Timrå is located eleven kilometers north of Sundsvall at the mouth of the Indalsälven in the Gulf of Bothnia and is the capital of the municipality of the same name . The Sundsvall-Timrå Airport is northeast of the town .

The town of Timrå has grown together with the town of Sundsvall in the last few decades and today it has almost the character of a suburb.

Timrå is known for its ice hockey club Timrå IK , which plays in the first division.
