Division I (chess) 1984/85

The 1984/85 season was the 16th season of the Allsvenskan in chess.

Events

The preliminary round competitions took place on October 21, November 18, December 9, 1984, January 20, February 10, March 3 and 24, 1985.

Division I Norra

As in the previous year, Wasa SK and the reigning champions SK Rockaden Stockholm qualified for the final tournament in the northern relay . The first and second teams of the SK SASS were promoted from Division II . While the first team reached relegation, the second team had to relegate directly with the SK Passanten .

Division I Södra

In the southern season, last year's winner Schacksällskapet Manhem and the teams of SK Kamraterna and Åstorps Schacksällskap , who had only just barely escaped relegation, fought a three-way battle for the two final places, which at the end of SK Kamraterna and Åstorp were able to secure. From the Division II of were Rödeby SK and the second team of Schacksällskapet Manhem ascended. Both newcomers had to relegate directly due to the poorer board point account compared to the table sixth Lunds ASK .

Final tournament

The final tournament took place from April 12th to 14th in Hallsberg . The SK Rockaden was his title despite a point loss against the third-placed SK Kamraterna defend.
