The Djom scepter , also Djam scepter or Dam scepter , functioned in Egyptian mythology as a shepherd's staff and divine scepter , which was also used as a burial object.
It symbolized , derived from the ancient Egyptian name djom / djam, a sky support made of white gold , which refers to its mythological role as “bearer of the sun”. In this context, the Djom scepter has further mythological connections to the serpent-neck panther and the uraeus snake .
