Dmitri Alexandrovich Muserski ( Russian : Дмитрий Александрович Мусэрский; English transcription: Dmitriy Alexandrovich Muserskiy; born October 29, 1988 in Makijiwka , Ukrainian SSR ) is a Russian volleyball player .

Career

Muserski started his career at the age of eight. At the age of 14 he joined a school team in Kharkiv . From 1996 to 2005 he played with Akademija WBK Kharkiv. In 2005 the middle blocker received a contract with the Russian first division club VK Lokomotiv-Belogorje . There he was first used in the second team. The following year he took part in the European Junior Championships with the Ukrainian juniors. At the end of 2006, Musersky took on Russian citizenship. In 2008 he temporarily moved to Metaloinwest Stary Oskol in the neighborhood of Belgorod . But at the end of the year he returned to VK Lokomotiv. In 2009 he won the CEV Cup with the club in the final against Panathinaikos Athens . A year later, he won the Russian championship. On June 4, 2010 Musersky made his debut in the Russian national team at a game of the world league ; the Russians reached the final of this competition. In 2011 Russia finally won the World League and the World Cup . In 2012 Muserski became Olympic champion with the national team in London . In 2013, the Russian national volleyball team won the world league for the third time, and Musersky was named the tournament's best blocker at the tournament. After winning the Russian double again in 2013, Musersky won the Champions League with Belgorod in 2014 and became club world champion .
