Men's Volleyball World Cup 2011

The 2011 Volleyball World Cup was the twelfth edition of the competition. It took place in Japan between November 20th and December 4th . This competition was also considered a qualification for the 2012 Olympic Games .

•  Serbia and Italy as finalists of the European Championship 2011 
•  Iran and People's Republic of China as finalists of the 2011 Asian Cup 
•  Cuba and USA as finalists of the NORCECA Championship 2011 
•  Brazil and Argentina as finalists of the South American Championship 2011 
•  Egypt won the 2011 African Cup
•  Russia and Poland at the invitation of the FIVB 

mode

The twelve participants played four rounds, informally divided into two groups. The system was “everyone against everyone”, which meant that each team had to play 11 games in 15 days (with 4 days of rest). For a 3-0 or 3-1 win, the winner received three points and the loser no point. If the match was 3: 2, the winner received two points and the loser one point. The first three teams each received a place for the 2012 Olympic Games .
