Men's Volleyball World Cup 2015

The Volleyball World Cup 2015 was the 13th edition of the competition. It took place in Japan between September 8th and 23rd . This competition was also considered a qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games .

•  Iran and Australia as the top Asian teams in the volleyball world rankings 
•  Russia and Italy as the best European teams in the ranking of the Confédération Européenne de Volleyball 
•  Argentina and Venezuela as the two finalists of the South American qualifying competition 
•  USA and Canada as the best two teams in the North American NORECA Champions Cup 
•  Egypt and Tunisia as the best two teams at the 2015 African Cup of Nations 

mode

The twelve participants played three rounds, informally divided into two groups. The system was “everyone against everyone”, which means that each team had to play 11 games in 16 days (with 5 days off). For a 3-0 or 3-1 win, the winner received three points and the loser no point. If the match was 3: 2, the winner received two points and the loser one point.
The first two teams each received a place for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
