Mario Hoyer
Mario Hoyer (born July 26, 1965 in Ronneburg , GDR ) is a former German bobsleigh driver .
Mario Hoyer from ASK Vorwärts Oberhof started in the two-man bobsleigh with Bernhard Lehmann and took third place in the GDR championships in 1987 and second in 1988. Lehmann and Hoyer won the bronze medal at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. In 1989 Hoyer was part of Detlef Richter's team , at the 1989 European Bobsleigh Championships Richter and Hoyer came eighth in the two-man bobsleigh. Hoyer remained active until 1992.
Hoyer was a trained electrical mechanic, he later retrained to become a masseur, but had to give up this job for health reasons.
