Dmitri Andrejewitsch Wassilenko ( Russian Дмитрий Андреевич Василенко ; born November 12, 1975 in Cherkessk , Karachay-Cherkessia , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ; † November 4, 2019 ) was a Russian gymnast .

Career

At the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 , Vasilenko won the gold medal in the all- around final together with Alexei Nemow , Sergei Kharkov , Nikolai Krjukow , Evgeni Podgorny , Dmitri Trusch and Alexei Voropajew .

At the 1994 World Championships in Dortmund , Wassilenko won silver with the Russian team. Three years later he won bronze at the 1997 World Championships in Lausanne with the Russian team.

At the European Championships in Copenhagen in 1996 , he won gold with the Russian team.
