Dmitri Vadimowitsch Sablin ( Russian Дми́трий Вади́мович Са́блин; born September 5, 1968 in Mariupol , Donetsk Oblast , Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic , USSR ) is a Russian politician and Colonel of the Reserve. He belongs to the “ United Russia ” faction and has been a member of the State Duma since 2003 .

biography

Sablin graduated with honors from the Moscow Higher Military Command School in 1989 . He then began his military service in the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Command Unit in Moscow . Here he rose from a platoon commander to the battalion's chief of staff. At his own request, Sablin was released from the ranks of the Russian armed forces in 1997 .

From 1997 to 2000 Sablin worked in the Russian Federation 's Civil Protection Ministry.

In 2000, Sablin became the first deputy of Boris Gromov , the chairman of the all-Russian public veterans' organization “Combat Brotherhood”, although he himself was never involved in the fighting. After Gromov's appointment as governor of Moscow Oblast , Sablin became his advisor on economic issues and investments in August 2003.

In the parliamentary elections held in December 2003, Sablin was elected to the State Duma of the third convocation from the Pushkin single-mandate constituency of Moscow Oblast. He repeated this success in the following three terms (2007, 2011 and 2016).

In September 2013, Sablin became a member of the Federation Council of the Federation Assembly of Russia after Gromov had resigned his mandate prematurely and instead moved to the Duma. Sablin's membership in the Upper House of Parliament ended in September 2016.

Along with Alexander Saldostanov and the actor Mikhail Poretschenkow, Sablin is considered to be one of the initiators of the founding of the anti-Maidan movement in January 2015, which was directed against the Euromaidan in Ukraine .

In April 2017 Sablin replaced Irina Yarovaya as the new head of the patriotic platform of the United Russia party.

With the decision of the General Council of United Russia, Sablin became secretary of the party's regional department in Sevastopol in Crimea in January 2019 .

Private

Sablin is married and has two sons and a daughter.
