Dolf Brouwers
Adolphus (Dolf) Brouwers (born August 31, 1912 in Utrecht , † September 23, 1997 in The Hague ) was a Dutch operetta singer with the voice range tenor and comedian, who is best known in the Netherlands for the music show Van Oekel's Discohoek , the Model of the plate kitchen .
Career
Dolf Brouwers grew up in Utrecht and was a hairdresser, guide and vacuum cleaner salesman. He loved the operetta and tried unsuccessfully for a career as a singer. But in 1972 he became known: the director Wim T. Schippers was looking for an actor for a supporting role in the television program De Fred Hachéshow. As a result, the main actor of this show Harry Touw suggested his friend Dolf Brouwers. It was the character Sjef van Oekel, who appeared in two other shows before Dolf Brouwers got his own show with Van Oekel's Discohoek.
After Brouwers was known, he recorded many, mostly comical songs, some of which were written by Wim T. Schippers. The best known was Vette jus , in which the dish was sung about sauerkraut with gravy.
