Dolgi ( Russian Остров До́лгий , Ostrow Dolgij , German "Long Island" ) is a narrow, elongated island off the north coast of Russia in the Pechora Sea , the southeastern area of the Barents Sea . Administratively, the island belongs to the Nenets Autonomous Okrug in Arkhangelsk Oblast .
geography
Dolgi is 38 km long but only a maximum of 4 km wide. The southern tip of the island is 12 km off the north coast of the West Siberian Lowlands . The landscape of the relatively flat island is characterized by tundra interspersed with many small lakes and ponds .
