Doll's Houses

As Doll's Houses (German: doll houses ), two adjacent semi-detached houses near the Scottish village of Tayinloan on the Kintyre peninsula called. You are on the land of the listed Killean House to the south and are just off the A83 highway , which connects the Kintyre to the Central Belt . The buildings were completed around 1895. As an architect, John James Burnet was responsible for the planning. In 1992 the Doll's Houses were included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A. Holiday apartments have been set up in the houses today.

The two identical houses each consist of mirror-symmetrical semi-detached houses. The houses have a U-shaped floor plan with short wings protruding towards the front. These are built from coarse rubble stones and the building edges are set off with cuboid corner stones made of sandstone. There is a small lattice window on the upper floor. They end with gable roofs that end in hip roofs next to the entrance areas . The main wing is made of brick.
