La Pierre Procureuse

The dolmen La Pierre Procureuse is located in a forest in the south of Saint-Cyr-la-Rosière and in the extreme south of the Orne department in Normandy in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

La Pierre Procureuse

The simple dolmen ( French dolmen simple ) consists of three stones, one of which is the approximately 5.0 m long, 3.0 m wide and 0.5 m thick ceiling plate of the dolmen, which is on one of the two bearing stones and on the floor rests.

It is associated with the legend common in megalithic sites , which says that the stone rises at midnight at Christmas and reveals a treasure, but falls down immediately when entering.

The dolmen was classified as a monument historique in 1930 and its surroundings in 1938 .
