Time of the megalithic systems in Corsica

The difficult-to-find dolmen Tola di u Turmentu is one of only six better-preserved megalithic structures on the island of Corsica . It is located in the maquis in the Taravo Valley, in Serra-di-Ferro in the Corse-du-Sud department , on a small hill halfway between Filitosa and Abbartello on the Golf de Valinco in the south of Corsica. In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

Its pink granite ceiling plate measures around 1.8 × 1.2 m and is up to 30 cm thick. There are other plates nearby. It is believed that several dolmens used to stand here. Dolmens of this type come from the Corsican "Megalithic II" and were created between 2500 and 1500 BC. Chr.
