The Taravo is a river in France that runs in the Corse-du-Sud department on the island of Corsica . It rises in the Corsica Regional Nature Park , on the north flank of Monte Grosso (1895 m), in the municipality of Palneca , generally drains in a south-westerly direction away from larger settlements and flows 65 kilometers into the municipality of Olmeto , just on the border with the neighboring municipality Serra-di-Ferro in the Gulf of Valinco in the Mediterranean . In its mouth section it flows through the Taravo plain (French: Plaine du Taravo) named after it, which merges into the sea as Taravo Beach (French: Plage du Taravo).
