Dolmen de l'Ubac

The Dolmen de l'Ubac is located on the edge of the Marican plain, near the Ubac hills, on the left bank of Le Calavon, southwest of Goult in the Vaucluse department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The dolmen was discovered by accident in 1995 after a flood of Le Calavon and excavated soon afterwards. It dates from the time between 3300 and 2900 BC. It lies sunk in a rough stone pavement and hid the remains of about 50 people of all ages and both sexes.

With the Dolmen de la Pichone in Ménerbes and the Dolmen Autel du Loup in Sault , about 4.2 km away , it is one of only three dolmens in the Vaucluse and one of the few in Provence .
