Dolmen de la Bruyère d'Usclas

The Dolmen de la Bruyère d'Usclas is located south of Saint-Privat directly on the border with Usclas-du-Bosc in the Hérault department in France and about one kilometer east of the former St. Michel de Grandmont priory . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

It has a lot in common with the nearby Dolmen of Coste-Rouge in the park of St. Michel de Grandmont, which has a similar but slightly lower chamber in a stone circle and whose stones consist primarily of red volcanic rock. The chamber is about 2.5 meters long and two meters wide. The capstone, which has broken off at the back, lies on four supporting stones, with the side stones angled inwards. The front stone has no soul hole or an oven door. The entrance is on one side.
