Dolmen des Bras
The Dolmen des Bras is located above the Benaize river near the hamlet of Le Bras a few kilometers southwest of Saint-Sulpice-les-Feuilles in the north of the Haute-Vienne department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
The dolmen typical of the region with its hemispherical capstone made of granite has a rectangular chamber of 3.5 × 2.0 meters that is open to the south. The single capstone is about 4.0 m long and 3.0 m wide and has a curved shape that looks like an elongated mushroom from certain directions. He lies on seven standing supporting stones, others have fallen over.
There are remains of a round hill about 15.0 meters in diameter. It is possible that there was once a walkway as there are signs of side panels on the slope in front of the dolmen.
To the southwest are the Bouéry Dolmen and the Dolmen de l'Héritière .
The Dolmen des Bras has been registered as a Monument historique since 1940 .
