Dolmen du Lac
The Dolmen du Lac (also called La Pierre Sanglante or La Guillotine) is located between a football field and a holiday home, near a lake, near le Cheix, north of Saint-Pierre-Colamine in the Puy-de-Dôme department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).
Not to be confused with the Dolmen du Lac d'Aurie in Limogne-en-Quercy , the Dolmen du Lac Neuf or the Dolmen du Lac Rouge, both in the Hérault department .
The Neolithic dolmen lies in the remains of its hill. A capstone measuring approximately 4.0 × 2.5 meters lies on top of several other collapsed stones, not high above the ground.
Nearby are the Grottes de Jonas , one of the largest “cave dwellings” in France.
