Dolmen de Commun

The remains of the Dolmen of Commun (also known as Dolmen du Pech Grillé or Dolmen de Igue) are located just east of the D143 road in Calvignac in the Lot department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for Neolithic megalithic structures of all kinds (see: French nomenclature ).

The capstone, split lengthways in the middle, lies next to the remaining supporting stones of the chamber. The result is four parallel standing or lying stone slabs, one half of which leans against one of the bearing stones. All other stones are missing. The dolmen was much larger than many others in the region. The chamber was about 3.5 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, with a capstone about 5.0 meters long and once 3.0 meters wide.

To the north is the heavily damaged Reyre Gagès dolmen.
