Estivaux dolmen
The Dolmen of Estivaux ( French called Dolmen de la Pierre Levée, Peyrelevade or Dolmen d'Estivaux ) is located east of the hamlet of Estivaux , near Uzerche in the Corrèze department in France . In France, dolmen is the generic term for megalithic structures of all kinds.
The simple dolmen ( French dolmen simple ), which was examined and restored in 2002, is located in a field south of the sports field and the adjacent buildings. The flat, oval capstone protruding on all sides measures 3.5 m × 2.5 m and rests on four supporting stones that form a chamber about 2.0 × 1.0 meters and 1.5 meters high. The supporting stones were completed during the restoration.
The excavation led to the discovery of a few tools made of flint , ceramic shards and a grave with charred bone fragments.
