Uzerche with the river Vézère

Uzerche is a French commune with 2806 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corrèze department . The community is located in the northwestern Massif Central in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine to approximately 333 meters. The river Vézère flows through the historical place. It is a central place for canoe and outdoor tourism in the region with numerous leisure opportunities.

Uzerche has since the 1880s a railway station on the standard gauge main line Orléans-Montauban , by the railway company Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans was built (PO). Between 1904 and 1972 it was also the north-western terminus of the narrow-gauge railway Chemin de fer du PO-Corrèze (POC), which had another station in the city of Uzerche-Ville .

The former national road 20 , which ran in north-south direction, was downgraded in the Uzerche area to D 920 departmental road. It was replaced by the A 20 motorway , which has bypassed the city to the west and south since 1996 and can be used free of charge on this section .

Uzerche is also the starting point for the D 3, D 137 and D 142 département roads.
