Chanteix ( Chantel in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 610 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The community is a member of the community association Tulle Agglo . The inhabitants call themselves Chanteixois (es).

geography

The community is located in the Massif Central . The prefecture of the Tulle department is located around 15 kilometers south-east. The municipality is traversed by a small river called Brézou, which flows into the Vézère a few kilometers later .

Neighboring municipalities of Chanteix are Lagraulière in the north, Saint-Clément in the east, Saint-Mexant in the southeast, Saint-Germain-les-Vergnes in the southwest and Saint-Pardoux-l'Ortigier in the west.
