Saint-Privat is a French commune with 1,075 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the canton of Argentat . The inhabitants call themselves Saint-Privacois (es).
geography
The municipality is located in the Massif Central at an altitude of 500 to 600 meters between the gorges of the Maronne and those of the Dordogne in the heart of the Xaintrie Blanche and is surrounded by extensive forests and fields. To the west, Lac de Feyt is around five kilometers away. The lake is fed by the river Glane de Servières , a tributary of the Dordogne that has its source in the Saint-Privat area.
Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 40 kilometers northwest and Argentat 15 kilometers southwest.
The Department of Road 980, the former national road 680 (to 1972), runs through the municipality. Today it runs from Murat im Cantal as D 680 to the border with the Corrèze department and from then on as D 980 to Argentat.
Neighboring municipalities of Saint-Privat are Darazac in the north, Auriac in the northeast, Saint-Julien-aux-Bois in the east, Saint-Cirgues-la-Loutre in the southeast, Saint-Geniez-ô-Merle in the south and Servières-le-Château in the West.
