Gourdon-Murat ( Gordon e Murat in Occitan ) is a French commune in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants call themselves Gourdonnais (es).
geography
The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park and is traversed by the Corrèze de Pradines , a right tributary of the Corrèze .
Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 45 kilometers slightly southwest, Égletons about 25 kilometers southeast and Ussel about 45 kilometers east.
Neighboring communities of Gourdon-Murat are Bugeat in the north, Bonnefond in the east, Pradines in the south, Lestards in the west and Viam in the north-west.
The Lac de Viam is located about five kilometers northwest of Gourdon-Murat.
