history
The municipality of Soudaine-Lavinadière was created in 1782 through the merger of the then independent municipalities of Soudaine and Lavinadière (both first mentioned in the 13th century). The churches of the two parishes were only 700 meters apart, but neither had a sacristy or a presbytery. The Church of Soudaine was abandoned as early as 1783, which then fell into ruin. The Lavinadière church was repaired, a bell tower and the Soudaine bell were added.
