The Vézère is a river in southwestern France that runs in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It rises in the western Massif Central , on the Millevaches plateau , in the municipality of Meymac . The source is located on Puy Pendu , about 900 meters above sea level, in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park . The river initially drains in a northerly direction, turns to the southwest at Millevaches , flows through the Monédières massif and, after 211 kilometers, flows into the Dordogne as a right tributary at Limeuil . The Vézère crosses the Corrèze and Dordogne departments on its way .
