Bugeat ( Bujac in Occitan ) is a French municipality with 803 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Correze in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants call themselves Bellechassagnois (es).

geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park on the left bank of the Vézère .

Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 50 kilometers southwest, Égletons about 30 kilometers southeast and Ussel about 40 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring communities of Bugeat are Toy-Viam and Tarnac in the north, Saint-Merd-les-Oussines in the northeast, Pérols-sur-Vézère in the east, Bonnefond in the southeast, Gourdon-Murat in the southwest and Viam in the west.

The Lac de Viam is about five kilometers west of Bugeat.
