The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park between the Chavanon and Dognon rivers .
Tulle , the prefecture of the department, is about 80 kilometers southwest, Ussel about 14 kilometers west and Bort-les-Orgues about 25 kilometers south.
