The Chavanon (in the upper reaches: Ramade ) is a river in France that runs in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and also touches the neighboring region of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes . It rises as a Ramade in the municipality of Crocq , in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Nature Park , drains generally in a south-east direction, on the eastern border of the regional park , and flows 54 kilometers from the Gorges du Chavanon into the Dordogne as a right tributary at Confolent-Port-Dieu . On its way, the Chavanon crosses the Creuse and Corrèze departments and also touches the neighboring Puy-de-Dôme department .
