Martín Vergés Massa (born March 8, 1934 in Vidreres , Girona ) is a former Spanish football player .
Career
Vergés played for Vidreres until he was 16, before moving to FC Barcelona in 1950 , where he was active in the youth department until 1954. The midfielder then moved to España Industrial before returning to Barça in 1956 and staying there until the end of his playing career that year. With the Catalans he won the trade fair cup 1955–58, 1958–60 and 1965/66, the Primera División 1958/59 and 1959/60 and the Copa del Rey 1956/57, 1958/59 and 1962/63.
Vergés played twelve games for Spain between 1957 and 1962 , in which he scored two goals. In 1962 he took part in the World Cup with Spain . There, however, Spain was eliminated in the group stage as bottom of the table. Vergés played in the game against Mexico (1-0) and Brazil (1-2). He also played three times for Catalonia's football team (1 goal).
